Explore.. your creative side with The Play Date Cafe!

Hello everyone – it’s Play Date Cafe day!

We have a treat in store for you because our sponsors this week are Market Street Stamps.  Look at this totally utterly gorgeous set that I chose to play with.

PDCC 96
Isn’t that caravan just the cutest caravan you’ve ever seen?!  I wonder what type of car would be towing it?!!

These are our lovely colours..  the suggest colours are mint, ivory and coral

story96 mint ivory coral market street
We were all questioning what colour mint is and I think it comes down to ‘the eye of the beholder’!  We each had our own version so I went with a blue:green version but obviously it could be a green:green version too!  We leave it to your own interpretation.

I don’t often mention what I think about the stamps I use, yes I mention the cute/pretty factor but not the quality.  Well these stamps are just lovely to work with, they have a slight peachy/pinky hue and are really thick yet soft, and they stamp beautifully.  I had great fun putting this card together, and it’s pastels!  Well what does that tell you!

This is a quick post from me today.  It’s nearly 1am as I’m writing this and I ought to be in bed!  I am literally falling asleep over my computer as I type!

So for all the details and the fab prize you can win pop on over to the main blog and see all of the wonderful projects created by my teamies.  Don’t forget to use our colours in order to have the chance to win the prize.

Supplies:
Stamps: Market Street ‘Gone Campin’
Papers: Kraft cardstock, Bazzill cardstock
Accessories: Twine, button from stash
Copics: BG13, BG11, BG10, R24, R22, R21, T5, T3, T1, YR30, YR31

Ciao for now!

Just Saying Hi

Hi everyone

I am just popping by to share a card that I made for The Stamp Attic and Paper Issues design teams that I'm on.

The current theme over at Paper Issues is ‘Let’s Ride’ and I was given some fun Hero Arts stamps and Authentique papers to play with from Wendy over at The Stamp Attic so thought this combination would work really well.  Aren’t those papers lush?!

PISA140811

I'm entering this card into CR84FN Color Challenge #36, to use these colours... aren't those papers just perfect for it!

For the detail of what I used and how I made this card pop on over to The Stamp Attic.
For more information on the Paper Issues challenge pop on over to the main blog.  I also linked up this little card…

Color Me Creative & Make It Crafty...

Well what a FAB combination!  I love pretending to be an artist using my Copics and Zoe’s images are just sooo cute you can’t help but want to colour!!  I do LOVE them!

Our challenge over at Color Me Creative is all about ‘Winged Things’.  Our sponsors this week are Make It Crafty.  I used this gorgeous little fairy called ‘Vixie’.
CMC 811-2
Here is the inspiration pic, just remember that your image MUST have wings (fairies, butterflies, dragonflies etc)

image
I am in a love-hate relationship with hair colouring I’ve decided, sometimes I’m pleased with the outcome, sometimes I find it really frustrating lol. I’m quite pleased with Vixie’s hair but she’s just such a gorgeous image to colour that I would have forgiven her anything anyway lol

I used some older Basic Grey ‘Origins’ patterned paper for the central panel and the orange floral background paper is from Stella Rose, with some green Bazzill cardstock.  The antique ribbon is from The Stamp Attic, which I crumpled with Ranger distress ink ‘Peeled Paint’ and then stitched on (yes, I stitched!!!) a double button to finish it off.

I’m entering this card into the following challenges;

Copic Oz challenge ‘It’s All About Hair’
Cardmad Fairy Digi Days Challenge ‘Use digi image and buttons’
Flutter by Wednesday – use punches and/or die cuts (nesties) and butterfly, fairy or angel

Zoe at MIC said we could choose two images so as I don’t like to make a scene as it were but she very kindly gave me a gorgeous second image too anyway.  Thanks Zoe, they were both SO much fun to colour.  I decided to give her a funky hair colour!  I’m not so keen on her hair colouring, it didn’t go as well.  She was my second attempt too, I was messing around with perfect pearls and ended up ruining my first one, grrr!!  Practice makes perfect!  Nobody got anywhere without trying, did they?!  If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again (that’s what my wise old Grandad would have said).
CMC 811-2b
The papers are from My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist ‘Happy Go Lucky’ and the sentiment stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Pop on over to check out what my teamies have made, they are very clever at putting scenes together and have created some beauties for you.

Play Date Cafe #95 & Advocado Arts

Hi everyone, it’s happy Play Date Cafe time again!  We want you to have another cup of creativity on us!

I seriously don’t know where the time is going.  Can it really be a few days since I last posted?! Sorry!

I have a card to share with you today that uses some lovely fresh colours..
PDCC 95
This is our colour story for this week…  Isn’t it BEAUTIFUL!  So many ideas came to mind when I looked at it.  I think it’s one of my favourites of Jaclyn’s colour stories so far, I LOVE it!
95 navy, bubblegum, leaf green
I have been clearing out some of my old crafting supplies and thought I would play around with some die cutters for a change.  There was a time I wouldn’t have stamped a thing and everything would have been die cut!  Funny how things change.

There’s not really much to tell you on this card as it’s pretty self explanatory.  I cut all of the elements and pieced it together.   It makes it sound like it took 5 minutes, doesn’t it?!  Na, it took quite a while by the time I found the right dies/inks/stamps etc.

This week we are sponsored by Avocado Arts.0sponsor (2)
Come and join in with our lovely colours, they are sure to get your mojo flowing!  Also, pop by to my teamies to see what delights they have dreamed up for you, lots of yumminess! For full information of the prize up for grabs this week pop on over to the main blog here!

DeNami Mini Cards Blog Hop

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope you’re having a great day so far.  We’re so excited that you’re joining us on the DeNami Mini Cards Hop today.  I hope you’ve enjoyed your stops so far.

Mini cards are my most favourite cards to make, I LoVe them!  I wanted to create some quick thank you cards that I can mass produce into a little gift pack.  These can then be used as gifts for new Mummies to send to friends/family when their little bubbas are given gifts.  These ones measure 3” x 3” despite them looking different because of how I photographed them!!  I like the pink version best.
DNMI BH 1408 (2)
DNMI BH 1408
I’d love to know which one of the two is your favourite!

I used these cutesie little characters, 'Baby Girl' and 'Baby Boy', aren’t they sweet?  You could just as easily make them as little congratulation cards just by switching the wording, or use them for gift tags too.
732
735I paired them up with a Lawn Fawn sentiment from Sophie’s Sentiments set.  I really need to get some more DeNami sentiments, they are so pretty.  DeNami isn’t so easy to get over here, I need to do some more research and see what I can find.  Have you seen the new collection of DeNami stamps?!  They are ADORABLE!!  Those little chicks are just SO cute!
Anyway, here are the details of the hop..
bloghop-aug-minicards

Play Date Cafe #94 & Practicing Creativity

Happy Thursday, it’s nearly the weekend..yay!  I actually work on a Sunday morning but it still feels like I get the whole weekend off because I only do a couple of hours and no.. I’m not a vicar!

Today’s Play Date Cafe challenge is sponsored by Practicing Creativity and I got a really extra fun set called Key to My Heart to play with.  This is what I created..
PDCC 94 (1)
using our colours for the week…

94 fudge, goldenrod, teal
Now these colours were a bit of a challenge, not because of the colours, but because I honestly thought I had the perfect 6 x 6 pad to use, Stella & Rose by MME, only to find it was actually my friend’s pad that I’d borrowed for another card and so I had nothing in the colours.  So, friend to the rescue (yes, she does do that a lot!!) and an MME pad stealing session and this card came together.

image
I’ve wanted a set with a harlequin pattern for ages and look…this is what I got..

image
Not one, but two, harlequin stamps, woohoo!!!  Plus gorgeous writing and fancy keys, but have you seen that little scrolly line underneath the ‘hey friend’?  Isn’t that cute, you could use that for so many things!  Thank you Practicing Creativity for your generous gift! This is a close up of how I used it…

PDCC 94 (2)
I die cut the heart and stamped it in mustard seed distress ink then I stamped the key and the lock as shown and cut out leaving a small white border.  I added a little navy/mustard polka dot bow to the lock.  I attached the finished heart to a striped panel using various MME papers and Bazzill cardstock, tying on some ribbon before attaching to the front of the card.  Finally I stamped the sentiment.

I hope you get time to play along with us this week, I just know you will love what my teamies have created (I’ve had a sneak peek in the gallery!)

Make A Splash!!

Hello and happy Wednesday!!

I have a happy little cutesie card to share with you today. The theme over at Paper Issues is ‘Make A Splash’.  I’ve linked up a couple of things up but wanted to make something special too.

PI 100811

Natasha, my 11 year old, fell off the climbing frame at school a while ago and to cut a very long story short, has torn her cartilage and is now having hydrotherapy to help her walk without crutches.  We wanted to say thank you to the physiotherapist that’s helping her, she has really made the sessions fun and Natasha looks forward to going each week.  She is slowly making progress now thank goodness Smile

I thought this little Lawn Fawn ‘Critters in the Sea’ set was perfect for the job matched with some Echo Park Papers ‘Summer Days’ and some twine from The Twinery.  It’s a shame that you can’t see the bubbles, they are 3d where I used glossy accents, they look so cute in real life.  I love that stuff!!

I’m entering this card into the Craft Your Passion challenge, Under the Sea.
I’ve linked up these little cards that I made for Color Me Creative challenges to Paper Issues, I thought they both go really well for the Make A Splash theme, what will you link up?  There’s still a few days to go!

CMC 811-1

CMC 411-3

Don’t forget to pop on over to the Paper Issues Etsy Shop, you can pick yourself up some lovely crafting supplies.  I’ve got my eye on this organza trim … isn’t it pretty?!

Hope you all have a whale of a time! (Sorreeee, I couldn't resist!)

Have a great day!

Color Me Creative–Friendship

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today over at Color Me Creative we are celebrating friendship and our wonderful AnaRy provided us all with one of her Gilli images.  I chose this little sweetie, ‘Trench Coat’, I love how she pairs so well with the Lawn Fawn ‘Partly Cloudy’ stamps.

CMC 811-1

As you can see I still have a long way to go with the hair colouring side of things, but with practice I will get there, so bear with me!

For this challenge you have to colour your own embellishments so I coloured my little flowers in the top right corner.

I stamped the little bit of rain in pink, I wanted pretty rain falling from my flowers lol and if you look closely you will see she has a polka dot umbrella where I added some white with my Signo white pen.

The papers are from Echo Park, ‘A Walk in The Park’ and the die is a Nestabilities border die, not sure of the name.  See below for the Copic list.

I hope you join in, friendship is always worth celebrating so don’t forget to tell your friends about it too!

Have you signed up to one of our classes yet?  You should, they are so much fun!

Hi there

Butterflies110711(2)
So much inky fun with that mini text stamp, LoVe making my own backgrounds, so much fun!
Butterflies110711(3)
That Tim Holtz butterfly just does all the talking, a pain to figure out which wing goes with which bit, but worth the effort lol

Play Date Cafe #93 & Pink Persimmon

Hi there everyone

I hope the sun is shining on you wherever you are, either literally or just in life in general!
Today’s challenge card is a little quirky!  Check out our DEE-LISH-OUS colours this week, aren’t they FUN!

PDCC 93

I made this card for Ian’s Mum for an early birthday present she bought me, it’s a printer and life is good now in Ruby’s office world.  My old printer was awful, this one even prints onto my cryogen cardstock, unheard of.  I’ve told my printer off so many times I’m surprised it printed for me at all!

The sad yet a little funny story is that she had four chickens but found out one of them was a cockerel so he’s had to go back to the breeder.  The reason it’s funny is because when I uploaded this card I realised that my red hen has no eyelashes!  I’m not sure if you can see but  I’d added them to the other three but not to ‘him’.  Maybe I knew!  I’m so sorry Mum, I’d already sent the card before you told me!  I hope you forgive me.

I haven’t been able to meet the deadlines of the Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday series, but I’ve made a note of some of my favourite ones to try out, this was the one where you have a shape cut out of the card and tie on some kind of twine/ribbon.

93 watermelon, sorbet, lime

After I made this card I noticed that I had subliminally used the colour story without realising, have you ever done that?!  I mailed the team to see if they thought it would pass, so I went with it as my card for the week.  All of the key colours are there, but obviously there are a couple of extras thrown in!  Even the coloured spots are like my patterned paper lol.

This is what I did inside..

PDCC 93 (3)

and a close up of the now boy chuck!

PDCC 93 (2)

Don’t you just LoVe Lawn Fawn stamps, they are SO happy!  They always make me smile!

We are really pleased to welcome Denise January and Julie Day on board with us, so do pop by and leave a comment on their debut posts.

Our sponsor this week is Pink Persimmon, how fun that our Denise is on their design team too Smile
0sponsor (2)

They have a fun prize for you, if you pop on over to the main blog you can see what it is and also check out scrummy colourful projects the rest of the girls have made for you to be inspired by.

Back tomorrow with another post for The Stamp Attic!

Supplies:

Stamps: Lawn Fawn ‘Critters on the Farm’
Papers: MME Life of the Party 6 x 6
