Hi there, I thought I'd share a couple of little birthday cards with you today using the lovely Birthday Bash set by Paper Smooches. My daughter is friends with twin sisters, so I love being able to make two of the same card using different colours. Usually, it's purple and pink because they like those colours:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here they are:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BvuROobhAFM/V_oeEkqqQGI/AAAAAAAAFvg/zCNlzFBLYYYZZTuZm2Ay2SvVQ-bv2_C-ACLcB/s1600/2016-10-09%2B11.23.57.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BvuROobhAFM/V_oeEkqqQGI/AAAAAAAAFvg/zCNlzFBLYYYZZTuZm2Ay2SvVQ-bv2_C-ACLcB/s400/2016-10-09%2B11.23.57.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had a play with this one and created a watercolour background for them both, using my Neo-Colour II Watersoluble Pastels . I have to confess, I've had them for over a year and it's mostly been ooh-ing and aah-ing over the gorgeous colours, but not really knowing what to do with them, so I'm really pleased with how they turned out. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Watercolouring has been one of those things I really want to crack, I find being messy creatively* quite a challenge which is why I tend to use papers instead. *You might disagree with me if you saw my desk when I pull together card ideas lol.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, I adhered the watercoloured background with pop dots. You probably can't see, but I added some glimmer mist for a bit of shimmer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I then die cut two circles using MFT Die-Namics Wonky Stitched Circles Dies (I will use something else soon, I just love these dies and the square ones right now, and seeing as I've had them about a year too, it's time to start using them!) So, one white circle on each, and one using patterned paper from My Favourite Things, County Fair Plaid 6 x 6 papers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I stamped and coloured the gorgeous cake from the Birthday Bash set, fussy cut them out (they don't do dies with this set - SOOOO sad!) and I adhered it with pop dots. Oh yeah, and before I stuck the base I added some matching twine to both. Finally, I stamped a happy birthday sentiment, and my job was done!</div>
<br />
If you use Copics and want the colours I used, here they are:<br />
<br />
E29, E27, E25 for the cakes<br />
RV32, RV29, RV25, RV11 (pink cake)<br />
BV66, BV63, BV31, BV01 (purple cake)<br />
C3, C1 (cake stand)<br />
YG03, YG01 (leaves)<br />
<br />
I coloured the grey stand on the purple card slightly darker to make the purple stand out more.<br />
<br />
Next up I created a special card for someone that had been camping and it hadn't been a very good experience, so we've been having some fun with them and I thought a card was in order. I dug out a few Paper Smooches sets for this one:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kqQUPIrVeEc/V_oeEhsuo5I/AAAAAAAAFvk/LE9VJkW7kVEHWEzJIe4aum8peRMWjQc8QCEw/s1600/2016-10-09%2B11.34.52.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kqQUPIrVeEc/V_oeEhsuo5I/AAAAAAAAFvk/LE9VJkW7kVEHWEzJIe4aum8peRMWjQc8QCEw/s400/2016-10-09%2B11.34.52.png" width="271" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Happy Camper (tent)</li>
<li>Eco-Friendly (clouds, rain, lightning and wind)</li>
<li>Fanciful Fall (squirrel) - my bestie let me borrow that one as it worked so well with the card</li>
<li>Promenade (trees)</li>
</ul>
<br />
See those little raindrops? Well in the set the raindrop has a smiley face, so because this hadn't been a happy occasion, I masked them and drew on my own faces! I know, I must be mad!<br />
<br />
So the card itself was simple, as the colouring was the most time-consuming of it all. I pop dotted a grey card base, that I'd hand-draw stitches around, before adding twine.<br />
<br />
I had already stamped on the wind swirl so it was just a case of adding all of the little images, one at a time.<br />
<br />
So for Copic lovers, here's the colours I used:<br />
<br />
C7, C5, C3, C1 (clouds and rain)<br />
Y19, Y17, Y15 (lightning)<br />
E08, E07, E04 (squirrel)<br />
YG09, YG07, YG05, YG03 (tree tops)<br />
E29, E27, E25 (tree trunks)<br />
B16, B14, B12<br />
<br />
Hope you like. Ciao for now!<br />
<br />

<br />
Note, this is a project heavy post!<br />
<br />
In this post, I have a couple of challenges that I'm entering, so keep scrolling!<br />
<br />
I missed last week's <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/retrosketches-233-happy-world-card.html?m=1"><b>Retro Sketch Challenge</b></a> and thought I'd give it another go this week. I was SO pleased to see that the card I'd made specifically for the challenge could still be entered because it's 'Pick Any Previous Sketch' to play with week, so I thought I'd enter last week's card.<br />
<br />
As that kinda felt like I was cheating a bit I also thought I'd use a different sketch to come up with something new too.<br />
<br />
I don't know about you but I do love a good sketch. I find it quite hard to come up with ideas on my own but once I have a sketch it seems to unlock some creativity somehow.<br />
<br />
So first up is <b><a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/retrosketches-233.html?m=1">Week 233's sketch</a>:</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eQNVC0930fY/V_YwQXjXsEI/AAAAAAAAFr8/D2A_f7gSMGYtmUBUcevMQw5dBfqzKy3ygCLcB/s1600/rs233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eQNVC0930fY/V_YwQXjXsEI/AAAAAAAAFr8/D2A_f7gSMGYtmUBUcevMQw5dBfqzKy3ygCLcB/s1600/rs233.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
And this is what I came up with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2JIPus6lQxs/V_ZJ1uV3VII/AAAAAAAAFsQ/O_Rs4MU01dQWhZtMgk3-82ulApk7U8xdgCLcB/s1600/File%2B06-10-2016%252C%2B13%2B49%2B19.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2JIPus6lQxs/V_ZJ1uV3VII/AAAAAAAAFsQ/O_Rs4MU01dQWhZtMgk3-82ulApk7U8xdgCLcB/s640/File%2B06-10-2016%252C%2B13%2B49%2B19.png" width="507" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Our really good friends are about to have bubba number two, they know it's going to be a girl so I'm hoping they got that bit right! (Hey, if it turns out to be a boy, you might get a blue version on my blog too!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
So for the deets of how I made it:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I started by die cutting out a pink square and then attached a second square over the top of it in pink gingham paper, that I'd cut off at an angle. The dies are Wonky Stitched Squares by Die-namics.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I coloured three dummies and a stork with my Copics from the Lawn Fawn Plus One baby set. I used R85, R83 and R81 for the pink, and C1 and C0 for the grey. I used YR09, YR04 for his beak and a dot of R20 for his cheek. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I don't have the dies for the storks or the rattles (yet!) so I just fussy cut them with scissors. Don't look too close, you'll see the bad cutting! I then stamped and die cut the clouds from another Lawn Fawn set, Blue Skies, and added a bit of BG10 to outline them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Using the newer Big Scripty Words stamps and dies, I stamped the word 'Congrats' and cut it out. Finally, I added everything to the card, adding pop dots for dimension on one of the clouds, the stork and the rattles. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It was a really fun sketch to use. I'm definitely going to be adding this to my go-to-sketch stash :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1w7MzyA6I1o/V_ZPte5qOaI/AAAAAAAAFsg/0rS-ufCtbU8WVJBAiPfUcSJM-eJ_zTDjACLcB/s1600/File%2B06-10-2016%252C%2B14%2B20%2B25.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1w7MzyA6I1o/V_ZPte5qOaI/AAAAAAAAFsg/0rS-ufCtbU8WVJBAiPfUcSJM-eJ_zTDjACLcB/s320/File%2B06-10-2016%252C%2B14%2B20%2B25.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
For my next card, I chose <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/retrosketches-137-rockstars-shoutouts.html"><b>Sketch #137</b></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Wp1gxBHjLDw/V_ZbPiLkgNI/AAAAAAAAFsw/FGGrf9iSSWo5Maqi5LkroQkxos1jQyWqACLcB/s1600/rs137.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Wp1gxBHjLDw/V_ZbPiLkgNI/AAAAAAAAFsw/FGGrf9iSSWo5Maqi5LkroQkxos1jQyWqACLcB/s1600/rs137.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I created a little interactive card for my bestie, who LOVES Halloween. Hope she's not reading this blog post! The photo does make it look a bit bigger than it is. The card size is 3in by 5in (I think).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W2fj358SpGA/V_ZhFzIZldI/AAAAAAAAFtA/PsjjjRLG4HMMXTG-UR6hmmw6ITXZgSFjQCLcB/s1600/IMG_2808.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W2fj358SpGA/V_ZhFzIZldI/AAAAAAAAFtA/PsjjjRLG4HMMXTG-UR6hmmw6ITXZgSFjQCLcB/s640/IMG_2808.PNG" width="462" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To learn how to make this card I watched <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoiThHoXeQ0"><b>this fab little video</b></a>, so I'll just share the other detail rather than the way I did that bit. I cut a piece of patterned paper for the card background, and then die cut a circle out of a piece of grey card. The dies I used for the circle are Wonky Stitched Circle Dies by Die-Namics. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My bestie is buying me the fabulous Lawn Fawn Dotted Rectangle Stackables dies for Christmas so I'm really excited to be adding those to my collection soon. Now you know why she's my bestie! Only kidding, she's amazing too!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next, I die cut another smaller circle from the grey cutoff to make the little circle in the middle. I followed the instructions from the video for the coin and added my little Copic coloured ghost with the hat to the coin to make her interactive. I then stuck another little ghost on the middle circle and the little word 'boo'. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ooh I nearly forgot - the ghosts! They are the stamps and dies from the adorable little Halloween set by Lawn Fawn, called Booyah.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To match the XXX's I used 3 little silver gems, in descending order, and finally, I pop dotted the whole panel to add some dimension. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, I haven't made an interactive card like this before.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I then fed my new obsession with Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Envelope Dies. I am honestly not joking. I got the die set for my birthday and I can't get enough of them. I've made get well notelets, packs of notelets for people to give away, bookmark pockets for myself, my daughter and the one below, thank you cards and more! We've had unicorns and flowers, and owls, and, and, and! They are SOOOO much fun to make! I am totally addicted! Here's a close-up of the ghost...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qLTOYCHs1tc/V_ZhxEgXCUI/AAAAAAAAFtE/mA-ZABuqLFYRZzXcGbgRIb5kFa-aotvzACLcB/s1600/phonto.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qLTOYCHs1tc/V_ZhxEgXCUI/AAAAAAAAFtE/mA-ZABuqLFYRZzXcGbgRIb5kFa-aotvzACLcB/s400/phonto.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
See that adorable little tag that I tied on with twine?! Eeek, how adorable are they?! I used another one of my totally new favourite stamp and die sets - Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings & Dies. Another must have for your crafty collection. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jx-bolfWOfI/V_ZsoD-mR5I/AAAAAAAAFts/vsIEKYWLFEAREUedZES2gIiB6qz3FLd0gCEw/s1600/FullSizeRender-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jx-bolfWOfI/V_ZsoD-mR5I/AAAAAAAAFts/vsIEKYWLFEAREUedZES2gIiB6qz3FLd0gCEw/s320/FullSizeRender-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And finally, I've created these for the current <a href="http://lawnscaping.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/lawnscaping-challenge-pinterest.html"><b>Lawnscaping Challenge</b></a>. The challenge is to be inspired by the colours in this Pinterest board:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-izJbcyIMlNA/V_ZmBQeuIpI/AAAAAAAAFtc/TOOtQHiRyb0uQfdhy80w02APaqtj2ghNQCLcB/s1600/Autumn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-izJbcyIMlNA/V_ZmBQeuIpI/AAAAAAAAFtc/TOOtQHiRyb0uQfdhy80w02APaqtj2ghNQCLcB/s320/Autumn.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Using the Lawn Fawn Science of Love set, their gorgeous Perfectly Plaid Fall 6 x 6 paper set and Paper Smooches Bookmarks Die, I pulled together this little set. Those cute little birds and all that colour make me so happy!! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I thought my lovely little nerdy birds would look good in a peachy orange and yellow, inspired by the image so I made this little bookmark holder. As part of my coaching biz, I have LOADS of notebooks, so I love making little bookmarks to mark special places I need to revisit. This little pocket envelope is the perfect size to store them in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MTBmw9J3694/V_Zh_OHD1WI/AAAAAAAAFtM/1CBDFR1Lhlsj4VcMPkh3UROd9cvmSabFACEw/s1600/File%2B06-10-2016%252C%2B13%2B56%2B59.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="566" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MTBmw9J3694/V_Zh_OHD1WI/AAAAAAAAFtM/1CBDFR1Lhlsj4VcMPkh3UROd9cvmSabFACEw/s640/File%2B06-10-2016%252C%2B13%2B56%2B59.png" width="640" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's it from me today. I hope it's inspired you to get your coloured pens out and have fun! If you promise you won't get too bored, I may share some of the other things I've made with those mini envelopes soon too! I warn you though, you might end up addicted like me!</div>

Hi there, it's been a VERY long time since I last posted. To cut a long story short, I set up my coaching business and that took over all of my time. I've been making the odd card here and there but recently thought I'd like to start blogging about card-making again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After making that decision I realised I had no idea how to get back into my blog! I was completely locked out as I'd changed email addresses and couldn't remember passwords and whatnot. I finally managed to get back in, so I thought I'd enter my first challenge over at <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/retrosketches-229.html?m=1">Retro Sketches</a>. You had to create something using the following sketch.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I recently got some lovely new stamps from Lawn Fawn (more to be seen at a later date) as an early birthday pressie so I thought I'd have a play. I have listed the Copic colours I've used to colour in the images, but I have, to be honest, I didn't intend to use quite so many! It was great fun, though. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BeOp-h-lKO8/V8ipATaZpJI/AAAAAAAAFrM/-2qmb3tetYMw9C7Vy5N-nE2x-u542tdeACLcB/s1600/%25C2%25A9Ruby%2B2%2BShoes%2BDesign.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BeOp-h-lKO8/V8ipATaZpJI/AAAAAAAAFrM/-2qmb3tetYMw9C7Vy5N-nE2x-u542tdeACLcB/s400/%25C2%25A9Ruby%2B2%2BShoes%2BDesign.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: justify;">I've listed them all below for you.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's a quick step-by-step guide to how I made it;</div>
<br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">I cut two rectangles, the polka dot panel on the left and the white panel on the right. I stuck them together so that I could use them as a background panel to attach the ribbon</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">I die cut the chocolate brown panel and added that to the background</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">I then die cut the notebook die and aged it by using some scissors to roughen up the edges and added some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">I coloured and die cut the Lawn Fawn images, using one of the broom handles as a tree trunk for the pile of leaves and used pop dots to attach them to the card</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Finally, I added a couple of gems to the top right</li>
</ul>
<div>
Here's a list of the Copics I used. I know, I told you I used a lot!</div>

<br />
Sadly I can't take part but it would be great if you could join in the fun if you can. Suzanne puts on great Birthday Bashes and I know the girls will cook up a fabulous line up of inspiration for you all.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com/group/cmcbirthdaythread" target="_blank"><img alt="birthday bash 3 photo cmc-birthday-3yr-2013.gif" border="0" src="http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz223/suzannejdean/cmc-birthday-3yr-2013.gif" /></a>
</div>
<br />
<br />
Suzanne's Copic colouring classes are second to none. If you haven't picked up your Copics and they are just gathering dust sign up for one, they are really good fun and will have you confident in using your Copics in no time. You will just LOVE what you learn on them.<br />
<br />
Have fun at the Bash!! <br />

I’ve had it on my wish list for a while but never quite got around to it. I’m sharing my card over on the <b><a href="http://makethedayspecial.co.uk/" target="_blank">MTDS</a></b> Blog. Have you seen all of the latest goodies over there? Ooh la la, there are some fabulous things to buy in the <b><a href="http://www.makethedayspecial.co.uk/">MTDS Shop</a></b>, you have to go and take a peek.<br />
<br />

I was inspired by this lovely image and challenge over at <a href="http://theribbonreelchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/challenge-49-spring-cottage.html" target="_blank"><b>The Ribbon Reel</b></a> and some patterned paper that I found from way back, so thought I’d play along. <br />
Good morning! Today I have a post over at <b><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk" target="_blank">Make The Day Special</a></b> where I’m sharing details about this card… A bit less cutesie for a change…<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-eR_4GBljegM/UTXDoMrIEJI/AAAAAAAAFWc/oGg7FbyXeOg/s1600-h/MTDS%252520050313%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="MTDS 050313" border="0" height="504" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-4ptlhZlQs8I/UTXDpGsbPnI/AAAAAAAAFWk/wfbF45fYz_E/MTDS%252520050313_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="MTDS 050313" width="378" /></a><br />
<br />
I'm not sure if you know but <a href="http://www.makethedayspecial.co.uk/">MTDS </a>is under new ownership, a lovely girl called Louise Nicolleau, this is the new logo - isn't it adorable! <br />
<br />
<img alt="Make The Day Special" height="140" id="Header1_headerimg" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RDElyRuSelQ/US0nmiea9SI/AAAAAAAAAJE/HsBKmPKh-UA/s320/MTDS%2BLogo_no%2Bbackground.png" style="display: block;" width="320" /> <br />
<br />
I used this gorgeous sketch for inspiration from <b><a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/retrosketches-53.html">Retro Sketches</a>...</b><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I made this card for someone that has made some fabulous health changes and lost lots of weight. She took a decision to look after herself. How well do you take care of yourself? If you fancy a bit of fun try out the little quiz on my <a href="http://www.rubymcguire.com/blog/looking-after-you" target="_blank"><b>Coaching Blog</b></a> to see, it’s all about looking after you.<br />
Have fun!<br />

<br />
Sorry you didn’t hear from me last week, my hubby hasn’t been very well. He’s had several attacks of gout recently and we ended up at the hospital for an x-ray to see if there was anything else going on. Thankfully he seems to be on the mend now. We still haven’t figured out why he gets it though.<br />
<br />
Anyway, on to today’s card for my post over at <a href="http://makethedayspecial.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a> – a mad butterfly. I made this for my friend, she’s mad about polka dots and I didn’t want to do traditional colours for her.<br />
<br />

I’m originally made this card for <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/cfc91.html" target="_blank"><b>CAS-ual Fridays</b></a>, to use silver. I’m not sure if it would be classed as CAS as I added some extra bits but their challenge inspired my card so I will enter it.<br />

Pop on over to the <a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS Blog</b></a> to see what stamps I used.<br />

It’s my day over at <a href="http://makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a> and this week I wanted to make something to keep me organised. I’ve been busy doing so much on my website that I feel a bit out of sync and a bit chaotic as a result of it. If you haven’t seen my website I’d love you to check it out – <b><a href="http://www.rubymcguire.com/">www.rubymcguire.com</a></b>.<br />
<br />
The gorgeous Lyndsey of <b><a href="http://www.sourapplestudio.com/">Sour Apple Studio</a> </b>designed it for me and I know all of you lovely card makers/paper crafters will appreciate her design. She also created this blog for me which is why I wanted her to create my website, she ‘gets’ me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jtVi3MJ3tLI/URoPHwIrDJI/AAAAAAAAFSw/ybY-93SjHbs/s1600/MTDS+120213+(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jtVi3MJ3tLI/URoPHwIrDJI/AAAAAAAAFSw/ybY-93SjHbs/s400/MTDS+120213+(1).jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Anyway, back to trying to get some more order in my life and practice what I preach (as my tagline for my biz says)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6sneTzaXgVs/URoPmslki-I/AAAAAAAAFS4/pZToExXtJAs/s1600/Tagline+Web+Res.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="44" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6sneTzaXgVs/URoPmslki-I/AAAAAAAAFS4/pZToExXtJAs/s320/Tagline+Web+Res.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I LOVE little books, I mean really love them. I have little books for all sorts of things, one for my dreams and goals, one for paper crafting ideas, one that I just use to jot down little sayings, one for business ideas, the list goes on. They help give me some order. I have sooo many ideas for so many different things that my poor little brain would go into meltdown without them! So here is the latest addition..<br />
<br />
<br />
I was given a little spiral bound notebook and loved the polka dot embossed background but it was just plain black and as you know I do so like my colour. A few patterned papers, a stamp and some ribbon and ta-da, it’s been Rubied! I also made a matching peg here..<br />
<br />
I’m entering this into the <a href="http://musecardclub.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/muse-challenge-4.html" target="_blank"><b>Muse Card Challenge</b></a> where you use a card as inspiration. This was the inspiration… <br />
<img border="0" height="269" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oiiQC7S4dFU/URXHMPt0YuI/AAAAAAAAAKg/wuyqdUep938/s1600/Half+Full.JPG" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="203" /><br />
I used a central panel on my book, the sentiment and line inspired my ribbon and the glass/straw inspired my sentiment and funny flower.<br />
<br />
I also used these colours form <a href="http://ibsichallenge.com/2013/02/07/ibsic-45/" target="_blank"><b>Inspired by Stamping</b></a> as inspiration..<br />
<img alt="IBSIC#45" border="0" height="299" src="http://ibsichallenge.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/ibsic_45_thumb.png?w=350&h=512" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="IBSIC#45" width="205" /><br />
Supplies: The papers are from Prima, ‘Doodle Deux’. For details of the stamps and Copics I used pop on over to my post over at <a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>Make The Day Special</b></a><b>.</b><br />
<br />
Do you ever cover mini books? If so I’d love you to post me a link, I’d love to see them. I could always use some more inspiration as I'm sure one of my books will be full soon and I’ll need to decorate another one!<br />
<br />

I saw this <a href="http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/these_are_a_few_of_my_fav/2013/02/tremendous-treats-valentine.html" target="_blank"><b>post</b></a> over at Dawn McVey’s and thought I’d like to try these little pencil toppers out, they’re so cute. So off I went hunting around the house for a pencil. I couldn’t find a single cute pencil. We have every type of pencil possible, a propelling this, a fancy that, but no simple basic pencils. So, on to plan B (because I was definitely making one of these) A straw! Yes, a straw and a slight twist on the plan. I was going to make a funny valentine straw for my hubby instead of my original pencil plan! Here is the finished project..<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-6E8V-aV0sR0/URD36q78BZI/AAAAAAAAFPw/UVcEAGJ1VmM/s1600-h/IMG_2267%25255B1%25255D%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img alt="IMG_2267[1]" border="0" height="418" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-oGY6_e75KiU/URD37boUQwI/AAAAAAAAFP4/fru9jBzw5IE/IMG_2267%25255B1%25255D_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="IMG_2267[1]" width="298" /></a><br />
Hopefully it will make him smile too when I present it to him in a glass of something. I think we often take life far too seriously, we need to add in some of that childlike fun back into our lives. Here’s mine, wish me luck. He will either think it’s funny or will get me certified as totally mad! If you don’t hear from me again you’ll know why lol.<br />

I hope you’ve been having a wonderful crafty week. I’ve not been very well so it’s been more about sitting doing not very much (which drives me nuts!) than spending any time in the studio creating.<br />
<br />
I do have a creation to share with you though for my post over at <a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk" target="_blank"><b>Make The Day Special</b></a>. I made this last week to match the little card I made my friend. I also made her a flower brooch to go with it, I thought the colours blended quite well so it felt like I was giving her a matching gift set.<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-_3DfrjH-fHg/UQeo_DiA_QI/AAAAAAAAFNM/UgKXAGo0UjA/s1600-h/MTDS%252520290113%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="MTDS 290113" border="0" height="475" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Ik6OD7TT9Kg/UQepAadQ8EI/AAAAAAAAFNU/j2OAfiXdn54/MTDS%252520290113_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="MTDS 290113" width="333" /></a><br />
This was the card from last week…<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-kvtS8Jnll2s/UQepB7V8kTI/AAAAAAAAFNc/z93DASW11R8/s1600-h/MTDS%252520220113%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="MTDS 220113" border="0" height="317" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-yz6ZhZxm36Q/UQepC9TzZHI/AAAAAAAAFNk/ubB2cwD1Jb0/MTDS%252520220113_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="MTDS 220113" width="332" /></a><br />
Finally this is the little crochet flower I made for her…<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-kaMVUhOwbGA/UQepD1bLwYI/AAAAAAAAFNs/2-uvL4DQDUo/s1600-h/IMG_2244%25255B1%25255D%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="IMG_2244[1]" border="0" height="254" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-CVaJhTD5LN0/UQepEhlNAAI/AAAAAAAAFNw/Yun4ZYMc7sY/IMG_2244%25255B1%25255D_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="IMG_2244[1]" width="334" /></a><br />
All I need to do now is actually post it to her! Please pop on over to the <a href="http://makethedayspecial.co.uk/" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS blog</b></a> to see all the details of the stamp set I used for my little notebook and I will be back with you next week, hopefully feeling a whole lot better than I do right now.<br />
<br />
Until then…

I love my <a href="http://makethedayspecial.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a> Tuesdays! I’ve been really busy working on my website for my coaching business that I haven’t had a whole lot of time to play. It’s nice to squeeze in some creative time.<br />
<br />
What’s your weather like? I hope that if you’re having snow you’re keeping safe and warm. We’ve apparently got more coming tonight so who knows I may get stranded and have to do some crochet! Did I tell you I’ve been learning to crochet? It’s been on my to-learn list for-ever. So far I can do a flower and a granny square! I might share with you when I’m brave enough!<br />
<br />
So onto my card.. Today’s card is for a lovely lady I haven’t known very long. She is such a generous, kind, knowledgeable and fun person. I feel really privileged to have met her. She has been giving me lots of her time recently so I wanted to make her a little thank you card. I thought this proud peacock was up to the job!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-kjHob0-bhAE/UP5i1-dXpXI/AAAAAAAAFL4/uycfMpz-rHY/s1600-h/MTDS%252520220113_thumb%25255B1%25255D%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img alt="MTDS 220113_thumb[1]" border="0" height="390" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-DAUDpCxJEUk/UP5i2d8p6cI/AAAAAAAAFMA/mRrkQNBLZyo/MTDS%252520220113_thumb%25255B1%25255D_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="MTDS 220113_thumb[1]" width="409" /></a><br />
For details of what I used to create it then pop on over to the <a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS Blog</b></a> for more info.<br />
I used this latest sketch from <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/retrosketches-47.html" target="_blank"><b>Retro Sketches</b></a>. It’s lovely, isn’t it!<br />
<br />
<img height="248" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lkLGFAydmYk/UPram0aiI_I/AAAAAAAApa0/mAqlTeK19Vo/s1600/rs47.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="198" /><br />
<br />
As you can see I rotated the sketch and moved my sentiment around a tad so that he could show off his feathers proudly! Hope you like. He makes me smile!<br />
<br />
Have fun, stay safe and cozy!

I needed a few simple thank you cards. I’ve always liked stamps that have a mixture of words based on the same theme.<br />
<br />

My hubby took one look at it and said, ‘It doesn’t look like it’s finished’. He then tried to redeem himself by adding, ‘Well it doesn’t, you normally do that layering thing with your pop dots’. I have been trying my hand lately at CAS, it seems to be what I am more inspired to do. Oh well, it’s at least another one of my thank you cards made lol.<br />
<br />
Pop on over to the main <b><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk" target="_blank">Make The Day Special</a> </b>blog for more details of the lovely stamp set I used.<br />
<br />
I'm entering this into the <b><a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/retrosketches-45.html">Retro Sketches</a></b> challenge with this sketch. I kind of used my artistic licence a bit as you can see lol. I LOVE Retro Sketches and their DT cards are consistently fab :o)<br />

<br />
Happy, totally wonderful and fabulous New Year to you! I wish you everything you wish for yourself.<br />
<br />
I am here to do the first 2013 post for <a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.makethedayspecial.co.uk" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a>, I’m the first person up to start of the New Year. I made this little notepad for my friend that is mad about sending me ‘Did you know…?’ texts.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-75DLJmvVFv8/UOHI5yodm4I/AAAAAAAAFAM/mPkQtsqBuO4/s1600-h/MTDS%252520010113%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="MTDS 010113" border="0" height="700" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-C_JW2YsVG6k/UOHI7tDAoOI/AAAAAAAAFAU/efP1rUrtK9A/MTDS%252520010113_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="MTDS 010113" width="398" /></a><br />
If you want to know what I used then pop on over to the main <a href="http://makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a> blog for all of the deets.<br />
<br />
In writing my post for this I learnt that celebrating the New Year is a tradition that dates back nearly 4000 years.<b> </b>If you had lived in Mesopotamia and Babylon 4,000 years ago (c. 2000 B.C.), you probably would have celebrated the new year in mid-March, at the time of the Vernal (Spring) Equinox. If, however, you were an Egyptian, your new year began with the Autumnal Equinox and the flooding of the Nile. If you were Greek, the Winter Solstice began your new year celebrations. I’ll shut up now lol.<br />
<br />
I’m entering this little project into the following challenges..<br />

<br />
Today’s cards for my <a href="http://makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a> blog post are quick and simple. My friend wasn’t very keen, I think she thought it looked like it had been thrown together, but I think it’s quite funky. What do you think?! <br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-F7zYNjeLFQ4/UMeFb139AuI/AAAAAAAAE8U/mFmRxaHYyOE/s1600-h/2012-12-11%25252015.27.25%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2012-12-11 15.27.25" border="0" height="390" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-fTsU3m92NbE/UMeFc225_lI/AAAAAAAAE8c/YSre8UgrY6Q/2012-12-11%25252015.27.25_thumb%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2012-12-11 15.27.25" width="271" /></a> <br />
Next up is another simple card, just a bit of colouring and some ribbon to give it a touch of candy cane colour. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-MH_qtaLc3j4/UMeFeM3mSRI/AAAAAAAAE8k/YF6vvmJ_8BE/s1600-h/2012-12-11%25252015.28.05%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="2012-12-11 15.28.05" border="0" height="369" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-sLwU_V1UaAM/UMeFfCfd_QI/AAAAAAAAE8s/iApp7blL_Vk/2012-12-11%25252015.28.05_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="2012-12-11 15.28.05" width="258" /></a> <br />
<br />
<br />
I also made it in this colourway too… <br />
<br />

Well I hope you like what you see. I will be back next week with some more Christmasness. For details of the stamps & copics I used check out the <a href="http://makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>MTDS</b></a> blog. <br />

They are soooo therapeutic to colour and you can do them while you watch tv. Ok so I’ve called them jester socks, what would you call them??!!  I also coloured in some of the socks on the bottom left and the more traditional stocking just above it, eek. I LOVE Christmas!</p> <p>I hope you have a fab Saturday whatever you are doing. We have friends coming over today so I’m guessing it’s gonna be a little hectic!</p> <p>Have fun!</p>

Really??!Hi there. Am I the only person that isn’t ready for Christmas yet? I’m sure it’s months away, isn’t it?!<br />
<br />
I thought I’d better start making some Christmas cards before it arrives, so here’s one I made earlier..<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-jSiu1zzBKDI/ULTBNV7XVSI/AAAAAAAAEzw/fd9nbPae-6o/s1600-h/271112%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="271112" border="0" height="400" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-HaEK-hYSoHs/ULTBOqrQCUI/AAAAAAAAEz4/ViGSy18KkB8/271112_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="271112" width="326" /></a><br />
My bestie was over when I made this. Oh boy, talk about laugh ourselves silly, it was just one of those mornings, we had an hilarious time catching up!<br />
<br />
I created this for my blog post over at <a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"><b>Make the Day Special</b></a><b> </b>so pop on over there for all of the details.<br />
<br />
Apparently it’s 4 weeks today to Christmas so you’d better get started on yours too!<br />
<br />
Have fun!<br />

It's <b><a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/">Make the Day</a><a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=3241597830887496855"> Special</a></b> time again. I have no idea where these weeks are going, they seem to be flying by!! I really must start making some Christmas cards next!<br />
<br />
My daughter had to do some little thank you cards for her friends and with time being limited I went into a little mass production with variation on colour.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-bHPv-b-oTtU/UKtSxjJMh6I/AAAAAAAAEyQ/Yq6rmzToMBA/s1600-h/201112%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="201112" border="0" height="163" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Ff2vH8CLKd8/UKtS0AfVV3I/AAAAAAAAEyY/znr1kId2YO8/201112_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="201112" width="519" /></a><br />
<br />
Pop on over to the <b><a href="http://www.makethedayspecialcards.blogspot.co.uk/">Make the Day Special Blog</a></b> for details of what I used. <br />
<br />
So I hope you like my little cards, I’ve taken a pic of one on it’s own too so you can see the detail a bit better. These were super simple to make, which is great when your daughter remembers they need to be made the night before she needs to hand them out!! Have a great day!<br />
<br />
