Color Me Creative and Catasticat
Hi there, I’m a little late but I finally made it with my card for the Color Me Creative Challenge. I chose to keep it simple this time because my paper is quite busy so although the colouring took a while the actual assembly of the card was really quick. This challenge is all about Celebrations. I wanted to make a general card that could be used to congratulate anyone.
Here are the challenge details…
Color Images that CELEBRATE something....birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, showers, weddings, etc....as long as your projects CELEBRATE some special event!
We want to see you use YOUR COPICS, ProMarkers, other alcohol markers or Colored Pencils!!
Our challenge sponsors are Pixie Cottage and I used the fabulous little kat image called Catasticat flies a kite.
For full details of our challenge pop on over to the main CMC blog.
Check out our fab DT girls’ projects over at CMC and we have two guest designers joining us for this challenge..

PDCC #129
Hi there
Another week has gone by and it’s time for our new colour story over at The Play Date Cafe!
I made this card for my lovely friend, Sue Lelli. It’s a belated birthday card, so I decided to do something that she could keep up for a little bit longer, seeing as I missed her actual day!
I love all of the Keep Calm and.. phrases that can be found everywhere right now so when I saw this set at Ally Pally a week or so ago I knew I had to pick it up. There are loads of fun combinations that you can make with the stamps, plus lots of mini images to use too.
The papers are by MME, So Sophie and some Bazzill cardstock.
The DT girls have made some fabulous cards too so while you’re there prepare to be inspired by their varied interpretations of this gorgeous colour palette. Scrummy, huh?!
We have the lovely Donna Bowman joining our team next week, so why not pop on over and see her now, you'll love her work.
Have fun!!!

Having a ‘Smash’ing Time
Hey there
I am sharing a post over at Make The Day Special today for a ‘Smash Book’ that I have made. If you have any idea what one of those is then you are better placed than I was a few days ago when we went live with it over at Paper Issues as our latest theme! I went into a mild panic thinking what on earth is one of those, how do I find out more about it. There’s some great information on K & Co’s website with lots of tips and tricks, but for me as I didn’t have an official smash book I just played around with a chipboard book that I have had for a while and created this… I am going to use it to put things in that make me happy and to write out things for which I’m grateful for.

Play Date Cafe #128
Yay, it’s Play Date Cafe day today so time for some more gorgeousness in terms of colour. I LOVE this week’s colours.
I always swoon over cards made by Dawn McVey and wanted to try my hand at one in her style where she has the layered panel at the top. This card came together fairly quickly, the central panel was just script paper that I distressed with the Tim Holtz distress tool and then inked it up with tea dye. I then overstamped it with the sentiment. The various die cut elements were then just stacked up layer on layer.
I hope you’ve enjoyed popping by today and that you will play along with this scrumptious colour palette. Our suggested colours this week are flamingo pink, bright orange and white.
Pop on over to the main blog to see some inspiration from the rest of the DT girls and details of the prize up for grabs, PDCC is the sponsor this week!
I look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery!
Thanks for popping by. (If you need any supply details just drop me a note)

Tea for Two with CMC
Hi there. It’s time for a bit of sunshine over at Color Me Creative. We are being sponsored by Tiffany Doodles and the challenge is to use our favourite yellow combos. Sorry, I'm a bit late with my post this week. I had prepared my card but hit a problem with my yellows and then didn't have another opportunity to post.
I chose this adorable little teaset image, isn’t it cute! Sooo Disney! It reminds me of the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ film. I used this sketch over at Ribbon Carousel Challenge.
Using Y08, Y06 and Y02 I coloured the teapot and cup/saucer and then coloured in my flowers with RV63 and RV66. The hardest part of this to colour for me was trying to get the circular shape, I never quite know where to put the shading. I had a bit of a problem with my yellows actually because I had coloured them and when I went back to them I realised they had a patchy grey hue to parts of the image. I had a chat with gorgeous boss lady Suzanne and she reassured me that it was something that sometimes happens with yellows where the colour picks up the hue of the paper. You learn something new every day, don’t you! I will have to play around with my yellows a bit more I think. I don’t use them often but actually they are really lovely. My favourite colours are the golds, where you use the yellows too. What’s your favourite colour combo?
Pop on over to our main CMC blog for all of the details of our latest challenge and join in the fun! Don’t forget you’re not just restricted to Copic markers, you can also use ProMarkers, other alcohol markers or Coloured Pencils!! Pop by the rest of the DT girls below to see what they’ve created;
and also go and visit our two guest designers;
I’m entering this card into the following challenges…
Wags ‘n Whiskers – anything goes
Cute Card Thursday – spring flowers
Back later with another card that I made for a challenge and forgot to post it in time!!
Ciao for now!

Play Date Cafe #127
Yay, it’s time again to play with some fun new colours with us over at The Play Date Cafe. This week’s colours are gorgeous and had my mind doing overtime as to what to create!
Here’s what I ended up with…
If you look really closely you may be able to make out that I stamped the background with some little clouds. I keep seeing so many people doing their own backgrounds and thought I would have a go. Next stage will be various coloured backgrounds I think.
Can I put in a request for sunshine every day please?! I’m finally happy with a photograph that I’ve taken, thanks to the glorious sunshine we had when I took the pic.
So here’s our inspiration pic..
Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp
so pop on over to the main PDCC blog and then check out the gorgeousness from the DT while you’re over there. You won’t be disappointed!!

BFF Banner
Hey there everyone
Today I have a fun little project to share with you over at Make The Day Special using some fun little Paper Smooches stamps.. You can see the full project deets over at the MTDS blog.
As you can see I found the banner a bit tricky to photograph but there are large individual photos over on the MTDS blog if you want to see it close up.
I found these took ages to colour, I really do need to get some time to do a bit more colouring again over at Color Me Creative Classroom, they're great classes for building your colouring skills. If you like to colour then pop on over to see our latest challenge, all about Spring.
Have a great day, hope you’re getting the same sunshine we have here, it’s a lovely way to start the day.

Easter Wishes
Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely relaxing day. We have been really lazy, we had a gorgeous roast beef dinner with all of the trimmings and have now settled down for a little bit of tv.
I made today’s card for the latest Retro Sketches challenge. I’ve been hoping to play along with them each week but it hasn’t quite worked out that way. It’s such a fab ‘go-to’ sketch, I love it!
Here’s their fab sketch..
I nearly didn’t post this card because I don’t like that bottom leaf. If I was doing this card again I would move it to the bottom left, diagonally opposite the other one, but anyway as someone I know would say, ‘it is what it is’ so I will just let it go even though it drives me nuts each time I look at it lol
Enjoy the rest of your day. I hope you get to eat lots of chocolate and have some time to play too.
Have fun!

Play Date Cafe #126
Hi everyone, are you looking forward to the Easter break? We are, it will be lovely to have some family downtime.
Today we have some wonderful new colours over at The Play Date Cafe for you, they are really fresh. As soon as I saw them I immediately thought of a very old Amy Butler scrapbook pad that I had ( I think it was called ‘Lotus’) I went very clean and simple with this card. Using various papers I created a wallpaper effect that I adhered onto a piece of white cardstock, then I added a large stripey grosgrain bow (SU!) before pop dotting the panel to the card base. I added a flower that I die cut using Sizzix Flower 3d die and added a little pearl that I attached with glossy accents. I stamped and hand cut the sentiment (PTI) and that was it. The papers are quite busy so I tried to keep it as ‘clean’ as possible. All in all a pretty quick card to make. I think if I was doing it again perhaps a bit of stitching would have given it a bit more definition and interest.
Here is our gorgeous inspiration picture.
Mmmm look at that yummy bag in the bottom right hand corner of that collage, me love!!
I look forward to seeing what you create. Maybe you will have some extra time this weekend to play??
We are being sponsored by The ScrapCake this week so pop on over to our main Play Date Cafe Blog to find out more, and to get some beautiful inspiration from the rest of the PDCC girls.
Have fun!
