Color Me Creative brings in the Spring

Over at Color Me Creative we have a Spring challenge for you.  It doesn’t feel like Spring here today, it’s been freezing!  Yesterday was glorious sunshine and beautifully warm, today scarves and jumpers looked tempting!

I chose to mix it up with a few challenges for my card.. a sketch from Mojo Monday, colours from Color Q and an inspiration picture from Paper Smooches and this is the result..

I spent AGES on trying to mask my little bunny because on the original stamp he was holding a carrot and I wanted to change him so that he was hugging the egg.  So I was sitting at my table surrounded by post it notes and several unhappy attempts at masking and then my other half walked in and said, ‘why don’t you just cut the carrot off’.  Grrr, why didn’t I think of that lol.  Note to self.. don’t try and make cards late at night when you’re half asleep!  I wouldn’t mind but I’ve masked a few things now but I couldn’t get it to work at all.  Oh well, at least he pointed out the obvious lol

Pop on over to the main Color Me Creative blog to find out all the details of our challenge but don’t forget to visit the rest of our DT and also our guest designers too.  They have some wonderful spring colours/designs to inspire you with.

Pop on over to our main CMC blog for all of the details of our latest challenge and join in the fun!  Don’t forget you’re not just restricted to Copic markers, you can also use ProMarkers, other alcohol markers or Coloured Pencils!!  Pop by the rest of the DT girls below to see what they’ve created;

and also go and visit our two guest designers;

Colour Splash with Play Date Cafe!

We’re back with another colour splash over at The Play Date Cafe. One of our most popular challenges, that attracts such beautiful entries and inspiration.  This time our colour splash is brown!
 PDCC 125Colour splashes are a challenge because I don’t know about you but I always want to add more than just a little bit of colour to the main black and white theme.  I have to remind myself that the clue is in the name… colour ‘splash’, not a ‘splat’, not a ‘splosh’ but a ‘splash’; a ‘pop’ of colour.  Well this time I found it a whole lot easier because I recently stumbled across Zentangling over at Zentangle® and various googled sites and I’ve been a bit hooked since.  Have you heard of it?

What I love about it is that the pattern commands your attention, so there is no point in adding much more than just the splash of black and white card and a simple ribbon because the image then gets lost somehow.  I used the gorgeous dress from Lawn Fawn’s Happily Ever After set, it just seemed to work really well where you could divide it up into sections.  The little flower is one that I made using a Mold Muse mold that I just coloured in with an E08 Copic.

I’m making this sound so simple.  I actually had to doodle 6/7 dresses before I got this one.  The 5th one was perfect but I sat back to look at it, took a sip of coffee and then accidently poured my coffee all over it lol.  Ahh, the hardship of having to start yet another one.  Na, it was just pure bliss!!!!

So details of our challenge sponsor and prize can be found on the main Play Date Cafe Blog, here’s our inspiration picture..  Don't forget to pop by and visit the DT girls for some fun inspiration..

and I will just leave you with some details about Zentangle®.

If you haven’t heard of Zentangle® then you should pop on over to the Zentangle® site.  The Zentangle® art form and method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas and is copyrighted. Zentangle® is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at zentangle.com.   This card isn’t a Zentangle, Inc creation but I was inspired by the gorgeous patterns, I especially love that I can use them in black in white which makes them work perfectly for our colour splash.

I warn you, this is an addictive hobby!  It’s very therapeutic, you need hardly any tools other than a bit of paper (I used Cryogen), a couple of black pens (I used Copic multiliners) and some patterns and you’re off!

I accept no responsibility if you become a Zentangle® addict, ok!

A silly card to share with you

Today I have a silly card to share with you..

(oops sorry for the edit, I forgot to add the PS logo!)

I just love these Paper Smooches flowers, they really make me smile!  Fun, fun, fun!
Be Silly
Sometimes in life I think we forget to be silly!  We should do more of it!

I’m linking this up for the latest Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge with this little inspiration picture, using my spring colours.  The papers are Cosmo Cricket and I used a circle nestie for the centre.
