Splatter Fun

Hi, it’s time for some more fun over at The Play Date Cafe this week and we have some luscious colours for you to play with.

I needed a batch of really quick cards and had recently bought some shimmer misting sprays so thought I would have a play at splattering.  It’s messy but a whole lotta fun!

Here’s my very quick CAS card…

PDCC 144
My card is a mini card that I splatted with orange and pink mister sprays.  The sentiment is PTI Communique Curves which I’m sure by now you know is one of my favourites!  The butterfly is from PTI (Beautiful Butterflies) too and the ribbon is just from my stash.  The little flower was white and I coloured it in with my Copics to match my ribbon.  It was really fun to play around with these and very quick too when you need something quick to send.

Look at these… aren’t they luverly!

Pink Carnation, Orange Sherbet, Lemonade

Suggested colours are Pink Carnation, Orange Sherbet & Lemonade… mmmm

I used the new PTI honeycomb stamps and dies and the butterfly is PTI too.  I LOVE popping out the inserts of these dies, they are soooo fun!

That graphic is gorgeous, isn’t it!

We have the fabulous Teri Anderson guesting with us today, I just LOVE her style, it’s so fun and happy!

Help…I need therapy!

I’m addicted to mini cards!

OCC 090112
Today’s little card is using a sketch from a fun new online course.I’m always playing around at trying to do CAS (clean and simple) cards but my creative head wants to layer, so when I saw this class I knew I had to sign up.

cleansimple_participant
This card uses a sketch by Kristina Werner and involves a masking technique.

I masked the card and stamped my Hero Arts woodgrain stamp onto the pink cardstock with a red ink.  I then added a white dotted line around the inside edge.  I stamped and embossed the Paper Smooches sentiment in white.  The Martha Stewart butterflies were cut out of pink cardstock that I’d added red ink too. Because the cardstock is slightly textured it didn’t pick up in all of the areas which gave a great textured look.  To finish I added some small black pearls.

I'm adding this one into the Wee Memories challenge too, I just cannot get enough of these mini cards!

Have fun!

Mini Card for Wee Memories Challenge

Hi there

Today I have a another card to share with you for the Wee Memories Challenge.  WEE 071211 (2)The challenge is to create a mini card.  This one is my favourite size of 3 x 3.  I needed to make a Congrats card so paired the little ‘Flower Fusion’ set from Papertrey Ink with my postage stamp Nesties die.

I often need to make Congrats cards so I’m always on the look out for new ideas, they need to be small stamps as I tend to like sending mini cards, they just seem a nicer way of sending my message somehow.

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend, thanks for popping by!

CR84FN #12

Hi there

I have a couple of mini cards to share with you today.  My daughter needed a card for her friend at school so I made these with PTI Tiny Treats: Valentine.  I just adore this little stamp set, it's all so tiny, LoVe it!  I wanted a tiny sentiment, but not with a lovey message so I used Wonderfully Whimsical's 'Happy Birthday' sentiment.   I had a play with my Copics to colour in the cake.  I'm really trying to practice more with my Copics instead of just storing them like I do with so many other things!  I've been checking out some tutorials, so if anyone has come across any good ones I'd love to hear about them.

I created the first mini card using the CR84FN challenge colours.  I do find pastels quite challenging, so it's good to push out of my comfort zone every now and again!  I'm actually quite pleased with how this turned out.  I stamped the framed image using Tiny Treats: Valentine, die cut an MFT die-namic doily and mounted it onto PTI Dotty Biscotti paper with pop dots, having wrapped some ribbon around first.  My ribbon looked better before I started taking my photos, it all went pear shaped after that lol.  The brighter version of the card is very definitely more me, but I actually like how they both turned out.  Quick and easy to make while being cheery too!

This is the inspiration pic for CR84FN.   The colours are light pink, lavender and kraft.

I've been meaning to play along with Mona's challenge for a while, but never quite make the deadline for some reason, so I'm really pleased to have finally done it!!

Enjoy the rest of your day :)

Hi everyone

I hope you had a lovely weekend and got nice and artsy when you could!

I have a simple little card to share with you today that I haven't blogged yet. I needed a quick card for a friend and decided to raid my daughter Tink's stash instead of mine for a change. She was very good about it all, adding that she normally takes all of mine so she doesn't mind sharing.  Aww, bless her!

This card is 3 x 3, my fave size at the minute as I'm sure you know.  I forget sometimes how much fun it is to use chipboard, I must use it more often!

Enjoy the rest of your day/evening.  I'll be back with some more to show you soon.

Take care

Time to Celebrate - I made a card lol

Hey there everyone

Firstly thank you so much for all of my wonderful birthday wishes.  I will get around at some point to see you but until then please know how very much I appreciated them.  I was really touched at how many I got.  I believe a little bird told you all about it on her blog too!  So thank you, you made my day! :o)

Well,  I finally made a card! Sorry for my lack of blogging, it's been a bit of a funny week. We were busy at the weekend and then my little princess went away with her school on Monday for the week, and Mummy isn't liking it very much so her mojo kind of died a bit!  Just 2 sleeps to go now, not that I'm counting or anything!!

Anyway, I've made a little card to share with you today, it's a 3" x 3" card, I LOVE this size card, it's so cute!  I used Papertrey Ink Fillable Frames die and stamp set with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  I'm not sure who the paper is by, I can't seem to find the information on it (must have thrown that away at some point lol).  All finished off with a pretty piece of copic coloured ribbon, and a couple of pearls.

Hope you like it.  I will be back tomorrow with a project for the Play Date Cafe, it's a bit random for me so it will be interesting to see what you all think of it!

Have a great day!  Ciao for now ♥
