Tiffany Doodles First Ever Challenge!!

It's time to play!  Come and join in the fun with us over at Tiffany Doodles!  We have our very first challenge starting today, with a sketch.

Here is the sketch created for us by Jenyfur.

I decided to use another of the 'Doodle Blooms' digi images.  I really do LOVE these, they are so funky!  I wanted to play with my Basic Grey Kyoshi papers so pulled out various co-ordinating papers and this is what I came up with;
I even fulfilled one of my New Year resolutions... to do something on the inside of my cards.  Ok, I know, it's June, but I got there eventually.. even if I am a bit late!  Better late than never, isn't that what they say?!  Here's what I did, just to take away a bit of the plain white card inside..
I think this has turned out ok, but it's not my usual bright colours, so it's a bit muted for me.  I do have to play around with new colours though, I'm terrible for sticking to what I know!  It would be great to hear what your favourite colour combinations are.  I really love the font of those little Unity stamps, they are SO cute!  I must play with some get well cards, the trouble is I don't anyone that's sick at the moment and don't want to jinx them lol My card was very simple to make, here are the details;
  1. Cut out patterned paper to fill most of base card
  2. Using a different paper cut a strip to finish covering the base card
  3. Print the digi doodle onto mauve paper
  4. Cut a rectangle in green paper, one in black polka dot and the one in mauve
  5. Paper piece the image using various papers, using foam dots 3d the flower
  6. Punch border in mauve paper, attach as shown
  7. Add ribbon across the punched border
  8. Stamp 'under the weather' sentiment, attach to black polka dot strip and attach to card as shown
  9. Stitch a button to ribbon and adhere to the top of the panel
  10. Add 3 blue pearls to flower to finish
Digi Images: Tiffany Doodles 'Doodle Blooms'
Stamps: Unity 'Heart Time'
Papers: Basic Grey 'Kyoshi' 6 x 6 pad
Accessories: East of India polka dot ribbon, Prima pearls, button from stash, Martha Stewart punch
    I'm fairly new to paper piecing, so if you haven't tried it before all you need to do is print your image onto different pieces of patterned paper, and then cut around the black outline and assemble.  In my one above I printed the original image onto mauve paper, so that the 'umbrella' handle as I call it would be flat, and then the other papers pieced together on top of it using pop dots to give a 3d effect.  Have a go, it really is quite therapeutic, and you can do it while you watch tv too! Do pop by the other DT members' blogs for some more inspiration, they have come up with some fab cards.
    So, go and make yourself a cuppa and get that printer whizzing because you can have so much fun with this challenge!  You have until the end of the month to enter for a chance to win some fab prizes!  More details can be found on the main Tiffany Doodles site, just pop on over there to enter.   Don't forget to grab our blinkies for your blog too!
