Live in Colour!

The title of this blog post really resonates with me.  I am a great believer that you should live each day to the full, making every moment count.  Life is just so very precious.

The details of my card are over at the Make The Day Special blog.  Emily has the new Paper Smooches stamps in.  Uh oh, more things added to my wish list.

Pop on over to the MTDS blog and see what else the other girls have been up to this week.

I’m entering this card into the Create: ‘Spring’ challenge.

Have a great week.

Happy Leap Year!!

** Edited to update links **

Yay!  Today is Leap Year.  A HUGE happy birthday to all of your poor people that have a birthday on 29th February.  How unfair for you not being able to celebrate on your actual day each year, but I guess it makes those 4 year birthdays oh so special!

If any of you ladies are planning to go with tradition and ask your man to marry you then I hope he’s definitely a prince and not a frog lol

I know somebody that has a birthday today and wanted to make her a fun card to celebrate.

I was inspired by the Create: challenge to create a quilt inspired card.  I wanted to make a patchwork type effect and added a bit of faux stitching.  I dug out some very old paper by K & Co, BW Mira, I just love this colour combo pad, it’s so bright and cheery!

The stamps are by Paper Smooches, the #4 die is by PTI, the ‘x’ is by Sizzix, an old set called Ida Lou’s Flower Box.

I'm also entering this card into the Papercraft Star challenge to use a frog!

Hope you like it!  Have a great day.

I will be back tomorrow with an elegant card for the new Play Date Cafe challenge.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Are you singing yet?!!

It is though!  I just LOVE this time of year, it is my absolute favourite time of year. The build up is fab!  The dark evenings, Christmas lights and sparkle, the hustle and bustle and the lovely foods.  FAB-U-LOUS!

Wendy over at The Stamp Attic gave me this fun little Hero Arts reindeer set to play with.  He just makes you smile, doesn’t he!

I combined a few challenges for this card, not something I do often, but the ideas just came together.  I really should do this more, it was fun!

First up is CAS-ual Fridays with their Tic-Tac Toe challenge where you have to choose three squares in a row. I chose scallops, kraft and aqua.

The second challenge I used was this lovely sketch over at Sketchbook Saturday Challenge.  I used the snowflakes in place of the leaves and added the red ‘scalloped’ border using a Tim Holtz punch.

I played around with a new technique for this little reindeer, well new to me anyway.  I stamped some of the Limited Edition Ranger Distress Ink in Evergreen Bough onto my craft mat and then sprayed some Perfect Pearls mix that I had made by just adding a teaspoon of Perfect Pearls to some water in a mini mister and I then used it as paint onto card before stamping my image.  I did the same again for the reindeer using Vintage Photo and the Limited Edition Weathered Twigs. The effect is SO pretty in real life, it’s my new favourite thing now lol.  Here are a couple of close ups for you..

My third challenge is over at the Create: blog where you have to make a Christmas card.  I really needed to get a move on with mine so this is a great start!

I am going to link this up to Paper Issues, the current theme is Holiday Madness so I’m sure I will be adding more to this one very soon as the Christmas Card production line starts!  Why do I leave it to the last minute?!

You can buy all of the supplies for my card over at The Stamp Attic and don’t forget to check out the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas while you’re over there.  Wendy has some great offers on at the moment when you buy those supplies.

Hope you have a fun day!

Create: challenge

Hi guys

I wanted to play along with Create: Challenge again today.  This week's theme is Quick & Easy Christmas Cards and I made this little card using Lawn Fawn ''Cozy Christmas' stamps.  Aren't those little lights the cutest?!

I had seen Kelly Marie over at Lawn Fawn colour the little mini lights and then add glossy accents, which I thought looked adorable, so I thought I'd have a play. The little bulbs go so well with this Cosmo Cricket paper, don't you think?  If you look close enough you will see they are really glossy.  They feel like light bulbs too :o)

I also have a little Noel card to share with you today.  My Mum needed a batch of Christmas cards made up, so I went into production (that's what it felt like!) and made these.  I'm not sure they would quite fit into the category of quick and easy because of the colouring, but it is something you can do while watching tv so they actually don't take very long at all once you get into a routine! They were really therapeutic to make as I got to play with my Copics too.

Did I tell you I recently got Copic Certified?

It doesn't mean I'm any good at it, but at least I now know the techniques to try and learn!!!  Seeing as I've collected a set of them I really ought to try and put them to good use now, huh?!
