A Bit of Monster Fun over at CMC

Happy Saturday!  I hope you’re having a great day.  I’ve been studying and I’m just sitting down to watch some recorded episodes of Downton Abbey with the family.  I’m not sure they enjoy it as much as I do though.

Over at Color Me Creative we have a new challenge that is all about using bright colours.  I made this card a few weeks ago so I’m hoping I can remember all the details now.   The DT girls are all using monster stamps for this challenge. Here’s my little fella.
CMC 912-2
My card design was inspired by a fabulous card by Lindsey Amrhein in the Papercrafts Magazine Card Design Handbook (pg 72 if you have it).

We are being sponsored by SCACD this week and we’ve all used monster stamps for our projects. I love it when people add paint to their cards so using a tube of white paint I thought it would be fun to make my little monster look like he was covered in paint having ‘one of those days’.  The paper is by Basic Grey Konnichiwa.

My Copic colours were very simple, YR09, YR07, YR04 and then I used a white gel Sakura pen to whiten his teeth and eyes.

I’m entering my card into the following challenges;

Inspire Me Fridays… Anything Goes
Simply Create…Always Anything Goes
Paper Issues…Fall’n for Flair (I thought my little monster was fall colours, plus he fell over, hope that counts Cassie lol)

Hope you join in on our colourful fun challenge.

**Bright, Fun Colours **
(the brighter the better..fun stuff)

PDCC 151–Sending Autumn Hugs

Hi there, well Autumn has definitely hit us in the UK and so I have an Autumnal card to share with you today for my Play Date Cafe post.

PDCC 151
I LOVE this time of year.  It’s when everybody starts complaining about how cold it is and I start saying I just love it!  The crisp and sunny mornings are just gorgeous, I love walking Lulu (my little dog) first thing in the morning and hearing her little paws walk on the crisp Autumn leaves.  In the evenings at home I love wrapping up all cozy and surrounding us with fragrant lit candles in the darker evenings.  What do you like about this time of year?

PDCC151 Sponsor

We are being sponsored by EAD Designs this week, that gorgeous little tree is a sticker, as is the sentiment.  Isn’t it a fab tree?!  All I did was stick the sticker onto a piece of white card and then cut around it before adding it to  my raised kraft/wine cardstock panel (although it’s looking more brown there).  The paper is by Basic Grey, a VERY old set called Mellow.  A couple of little gems finished it off.

EAD Shipping Badge

Don’t forget to visit the main PDCC blog to find out all the challenge/prize details and to see what else the girls have done with their stickers.  Before you go cast your eye over this gorgeous inspirational picture.  Jax creates the most amazing colour stories, she gets them just right.  The suggested colours this week are wine, pumpkin & moss...

wine, pumpkin, moss
The leaves on the pie were what inspired me to use that particular paper, it reminded me of crisp Autumn leaves.

Hope you have a great day and that you’ve left inspired to make a card or to look at Autumn as your friend instead of enemy now!!!

Ciao for now.

A Healthy Line Up

Hi there.  It’s Make The Day Special time again and I’m sharing this card over there for my post today…

I made this card for my Mentor Coach, Dawn Campbell, for all the support she gave me during my mentor coaching sessions.  She runs a holistic health business and loves raw foods etc so I thought these stamps would be perfect for her.  I liked the text paper too because it’s kind of teacher-y!

For details of the stamps and Copics I used pop on over to the MTDS blog.

Have a great day!

Glad I Mitt You

Hi there, happy Thursday!  I am back today with another Play Date Cafe challenge card and this week we have a luscious colour palette for you.
PDCC 150

PDCC150 Sponsor
We are being sponsored by The Alley Way Stamps this week and I got this gorgeous little kitchen set called Kitchen Gadgets 2 to play with.  Huge thanks to the Alley Way Stamps, I LOVE this set!

I wanted to make a little thank you card for someone and thought this would be perfect.  I stamped the background on the white label using one of the tiny stamps in the set (the stamp just under the heart) and then stamped the oven mitt over the top of it before paper piecing it and adding some glossy accents to finish.

Flamingo, Honey, Coffee
The DT girls have created some wonderful projects for you so pop on over to the main PDCC blog to get lots of yummy inspiration and see the prize up for grabs.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for these colours.  Put down what you’re doing and get creating, these colours are fab to work with!

Have a great week!

A Bit of Denim

Hi everyone.  I’m here to share a card for my day over at Make The Day Special.  For this one I used a card from the Papercrafts Card Design magazine that I mentioned a few posts ago.  I’m loving all the inspiration in there.

180912
The little tag is just a tag that was in the sheet of paper itself.  I cut it off, added a couple of stars and then die cut the number 3.  The little train is from a Christmas set, Lawn Fawn’s Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum and the sentiment is from one of my fave sentiment sets..Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler  I normally like to colour, as you know, but this time I thought I would just stamp and paper piece the little train.  You can’t really make it out but I used white enamel accents for the centre of the wheels for a touch of dimension.

I’m entering this into the Moxie Fab World's Gallon, Quart, Pint challenge.

Hope you like it, have a great day!

Happy Saturday!  What have you been up to this week?  I’ve been doing a spot of colouring for our latest challenge over at Color Me Creative.  This time our challenge is all about fall colours.

CMC 0912-1
I used this sketch from Deconstructed Sketches
Deconstructed Sketch No. 69
Our sponsors are Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I chose this adorable little Pumpkin Trio.  I always love stamps that have characters with their hair all wavy like that, they are so fun.

A Simple Card Using My Fave Die Cut Flower

Hi everyone, I hope you’re having a great week so far!

It’s Play Date Cafe challenge day and here is what I created….
PDCC 149
using these gorgeous colours… Orchid, Sea Foam & Tangerine

Orchid, Sea Foam, Tangerine
I know some of you will be shocked by my bright colours for a sympathy card, but having been through the grieving process myself I always found the colourful cards I received brightened my day so much more than the traditional type, so I have made it my thing ever since to only send cards with some colour on.  I just hope people get the same from them that I did when I received mine.  Here’s hoping!

We are being sponsored by the fab Simon Says Stamp this week.  For all of the details of the prize up for grabs and how to play along with us, check out the rest of the wonderful DT inspirational pieces pop on over to the main PDCC blog.

I’ve been very lazy lately in leaving my list of supplies.  I just haven’t had the time to do the linky thing but you still might want to know what I’ve used, so I will leave you with a little list.

It was my birthday yesterday and my gorgeous hubbie (still feels weird saying that as we’ve only been married just under 4 months) took the day off to spend some time with me.  He’s off today too, so we are going to make the most of the lovely sunshine and autumnal feeling weather (my fave time of year!)

Have fun!

Supplies:
Papers: MME The Sweetest Thing ‘Tangerine’, lilac Bazzill cardstock
Dies: Quickutz ‘Flower’
Stamps: PTI Think Big Favourites #3

Grid Card

Hi there.  It’s my day over at Make The Day Special.  I’m very late in posting today because I’ve been really busy.  I had a coaching assessment to do.  Did I tell you I’m doing some coach training?  I passed so I’m very excited and am going to celebrate with a nice glass of wine!  Finally I’m making some progress.  I still have a lot to do on the studying front and I need to rack up a lot of free coaching hours so if you fancy a bit of coaching to help you work out what your dreams are and how to get there then give me a shout!

So about my card.. this card was inspired by a card done by Teri Anderson in the new Paper Crafts Card Design Handbook.  I loved her card and wanted to make a lovey dovey card for a change. After I’d finished I realised it was a bit pink to give to Ian, he used to be a bodyguard in Iraq so probably not his thing lol.

I was also inspired by this challenge from {Pin}spirational

Isn’t that a lovely picture?  I want to do that in my garden now!

For details of the stamps I used pop on over to the MTDS blog.

Have a great evening.  I’m off to celebrate!

CMC and an Elegant Card for a Change!

It’s time for another challenge over at Color Me Creative. This time the challenge is to use lots of yellow with an optional twist of kraft if you’d like to use it.

CMC812-2b
I don’t know why but I’ve not really been in the mood for doing elegant cards lately, I’ve been preferring the cute/fun style images instead so it was a really pleasant change to create this card.

The birdhouse image is from our lovely sponsors, Pattie’s Creations. It’s called Three Birdhouses and is another lovely image to colour, the main challenge was trying to colour in the lines for the little flower buds.  Glasses to the rescue lol.  I used MME Lost & Found Sunshine papers, some Stamping Up wide grosgrain ribbon (my absolute fave ribbon EVER!)  The banner behind the focal point was just one I cut by hand.

The panel I cut out in brown Bazzill cardstock behind the image is another Nesties.  I think they were called Scalloped Borders but I’m not sure.  Nesties are the next organising job on my list.  They are all hung beautifully in my studio but I can never remember their names!  Once the image was coloured I used some Scattered Straw Distress Ink to age the edges slightly.

I made this card for my dear friend, Sue Lelli.  She has just moved and the little birdhouses are just perfect for a new home card.  I generated the sentiment on my computer and then just die cut it using my nestie.  She’s also just sadly lost her Mum, so I just wanted to tell you my thoughts are with you Sue.  Cards are winging their way over to you soon x

For my card I thought I would take on the extra twist of kraft because it’s not one of my regular go-to Copic colours.  I unfortunately didn’t write down the Copic colour combo I used before putting them away but if I recall it correctly I used Y19, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11 for the yellow, E35, E34, E33 and E31 for the browns plus E49 and then BG10 for the outlining and the white daisy.  A few pearls were added to finish the card.

I hope you have fun visiting all of the DT girls’ blogs, they have some delights in store for you.  Visit the CMC Challenge section of the blog to see a slideshow and also to learn all the details of prizes up for grabs.

I’m entering this card into the following challenges…

Moxie Fab World – Focal Point Challenge
Inspire Me Fridays – Anything Goes
Mojo Mondays – Round or Square (I used their sketch as inspiration)

Happy Saturday!
